01Understanding the condition

What is carpal tunnel syndrome?

Whether you’re working an assembly line, typing reports all day, swinging a tennis racket, or recovering from a car crash, numbness, tingling, or weakness in your hand can stop you in your tracks. What starts as a minor annoyance can quickly make even buttoning a shirt frustrating.

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome is a type of nerve compression that affects the median nerve as it passes through a narrow passageway in your wrist. When the tissues around that tunnel swell or tighten, they press on the nerve, causing the classic hand symptoms.

At Cavanaugh Chiropractic in Lafayette, we’ve seen how much this condition can affect work, sleep, and daily life. Our goal is to relieve the pressure on that nerve without surgery or medication, so you can get back to what you love.

Trouble with fine tasks like buttoning or gripping
Don't wait
The sooner we get to the root of it, the better your outcome, early care makes a real difference.
03Our approach

How Cavanaugh Chiropractic can help.

Carpal tunnel isn't always just about the wrist, the nerve travels from the neck all the way down, so we look at the whole path. Your plan may include:
Wrist & joint care
Gentle adjustments to the wrist and hand to reduce pressure on the median nerve.
Neck & spine assessment
Checking the nerve's path from the neck down, since problems there can mimic or worsen symptoms.
Soft tissue therapy
Hands-on work to release tight forearm muscles and support nerve glide.
Ergonomics & exercise
Practical changes and targeted exercises to reduce strain and prevent flare-ups.
You don't have to push through the pain.
The sooner we address it, the sooner you're back to feeling your best.
