01Understanding the condition

What is biceps tendinitis?

If you’ve been dealing with nagging pain at the front of your shoulder that just won’t go away, especially during lifting, reaching, or even brushing your hair, you might have biceps tendinitis.

The biceps muscle has two tendons that anchor it to the shoulder. Biceps tendinitis refers specifically to irritation or inflammation of the long head of the biceps tendon, the one that runs through the front of the shoulder and attaches to the top of the shoulder socket. When it becomes irritated, everyday movements can start to hurt.

Whether you picked it up from your weekend softball league or from repetitive motions after a car accident, that pain can take a real toll. At Cavanaugh Chiropractic in Lafayette, we help patients calm the irritation and get the shoulder working smoothly again.

How Cavanaugh Chiropractic can help.

We look at the whole shoulder complex, not just the sore spot, because posture, alignment, and muscle balance all affect that tendon. Your plan may include:
Shoulder & spine alignment
Adjustments that improve posture and mechanics so the tendon isn't overloaded.
Soft tissue therapy
Targeted hands-on work to ease tension and support healing in the irritated tendon.
Therapeutic exercise
Progressive strengthening to restore shoulder stability and prevent flare-ups.
Activity modification
Guidance on adjusting the movements that keep aggravating the tendon.
You don't have to push through the pain.
