1. About this policy

This policy explains how Cavanaugh Chiropractic handles information collected through this website, cavanaughchiropractic.com.

This policy covers the website only. It is not our HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices. Your medical records, treatment history, and the paperwork you complete as a patient are protected health information, and they are governed by HIPAA and by our Notice of Privacy Practices, which is available at our front desk and which we will provide to you at your first visit. Nothing in this website policy limits the rights that notice gives you.

Please do not send medical information through this website. Our contact form is for scheduling and general questions. If you need to discuss symptoms, test results, or anything else about your care, call us at 337-984-5852 or talk to us in the office.

2. Information we collect

Information you give us. When you submit the contact form, we collect your first and last name, your email address, your phone number, and whatever you choose to write in the message field. The form also records which page on our site you were on when you sent it, so we know what you were reading when you reached out.

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, ours records technical information when you visit: your IP address, your browser and device type, the pages you view, how long you spend on them, and the site or search that sent you to us. This happens through the analytics and advertising services described in section 4.

We do not collect medical information through this website, and we do not ask you to. There is no patient portal, no login, and no place on this site to upload or transmit health records. Our new patient form is a PDF you download, print, and bring with you.

3. How we use your information

We use what you send us to reply to you, schedule appointments, and answer questions. We use the automatically collected information to understand how people find and use the site, to see which pages are useful, to keep the site secure, and to measure whether our advertising is working.

We do not sell your information. We do not share it with anyone who wants to market their own products to you.

4. Cookies, analytics, and advertising

Our site uses cookies and similar technologies. Some are necessary for the site to work at all, such as those our hosting and security providers use to load pages and block automated abuse. Others support the services below.

Google Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site: which pages get read, how people arrive, and where they leave. Google processes this data on our behalf. You can read how Google uses information from sites that use its services at google.com/policies/privacy/partners.

Google Ads. We advertise on Google. Google's advertising cookies tell us when someone who clicked one of our ads later contacts us, and they allow our ads to be shown again to people who have visited the site.

Google Tag Manager. We use Google Tag Manager to load the two services above.

Cloudflare Turnstile. Our contact form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to tell real visitors apart from automated spam. It reviews limited signals about your browser and device when you use the form. It does not read your message.

Section 6 explains how to limit or turn these off.

5. How we share information

We share information only in these situations:

• With service providers who run parts of the site for us. This includes our web host, our content delivery and security provider, our form software, and the Google services in section 4. They may only use the information to provide their service to us.
• When you ask us to. For example, if you ask us to send records or coordinate with another provider. Requests involving your medical records are handled under HIPAA and our Notice of Privacy Practices, not under this policy.
• When the law requires it, such as a valid subpoena or court order.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for anyone else's independent marketing.

6. Your choices

Cookies. Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies. Look under Settings, then Privacy. Blocking cookies may affect how parts of the site work.

Google Analytics. You can install Google's own opt-out browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout, which stops Google Analytics on every site you visit, including ours.

Google advertising. You can turn off ad personalization at myadcenter.google.com. You can also opt out of interest-based advertising from many companies at once at optout.aboutads.info or youronlinechoices.eu.

Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control. Browsers vary in how they send these signals and there is no common standard for honoring them, so our site does not currently respond to them. The controls above work regardless.

Your information in our hands. To ask what website information we hold about you, to correct it, or to ask us to delete it, contact us using section 10. Requests about your medical records go through our Notice of Privacy Practices instead, which gives you stronger rights than this policy does.

7. How we protect information

The site is served over an encrypted connection, so what you type into the contact form is encrypted in transit. Form submissions are emailed to the practice and stored in the site's form software, and access to both is limited to the people at the practice who need it. Patient records are kept in our clinical systems, not on this website, and are protected under HIPAA.

No website can promise perfect security. This is part of why we ask you not to send medical information through the site.

8. Children's privacy

This site is meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect information through the website from children under 13. We do treat children as patients, and a parent or guardian handles their paperwork and scheduling with us directly. If you believe a child has sent us information through this website, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site or our services change. The date at the top shows when it last changed. If we make a significant change, we will make that clear on this page.
